You are cordially uninvited to The Necronomicon: Ex Mortis, a campaign weaving survival horror and cosmic dread into the fabric of classic Dungeons & Dragons.
The Call to Dread
Your adventure begins simply: a dark, isolated cabin in the woods. Within its damp cellar, you find the source of ancient evil: the Necronomicon: Ex Mortis—the Book of the Dead.
A few whispered, misunderstood words later, and the seal is broken. An ancient, malignant Necromancer awakens, seizing the book and escaping to raise an Army of Darkness capable of consuming the world.
Your goal is simple, yet impossible: Pursue the Necromancer, retrieve the book, and end the global threat.
Features and Mechanics
This campaign utilizes specialized rules to amplify the terror and consequences of confronting the unholy:

Cosmic Dread Mechanics: You won't just track Hit Points; you'll track your Sanity Points. Witnessing a ghastly summoning, reading cursed texts, or seeing the Necromancer's work firsthand will force Sanity Checks. Failures may result in psychological effects like paranoia, delusions, or temporary incapacitation.

Thematic Horrors: Battle a terrifying menagerie of thematic monsters drawn from the very grave: shambling Zombies and skeletal legions, invisible Specters, life-draining Wights, and unnatural entities summoned from the pages of the forbidden book.

Unconventional Allies: Along your desperate journey, you will meet key NPCs, including the cynical survivor Asher, whose missing hand was replaced by a magical, transforming metal gauntlet. He knows the horror better than anyone, and he's bringing the boomstick.

Raise an Army: The threat is too large for five heroes. You must travel from tainted town to fallen fortress, rallying support and convincing skeptical leaders to commit forces to their cause. Your diplomatic success dictates the size and strength of your Ally Army for the climactic battle.

The Final Clash: The campaign climaxes in an epic Warfare Encounter. Your assembled allies clash with the legions of the dead as you, the heroes, fight your way through the Necromancer's elite guard to confront the now-empowered villain in a desperate final stand.
