But you're not out of options yet. You clutch your new arcane focus, a rod with a gleaming ruby at its head, and point it at the beast. With a brief chant, you bring your magic forth, now glowing with a red hue. A powerful bolt leaps from the rod, impacting the dragon's chest. Scales and flesh explode outwards, a gaping wound left in the wake of your magic. The dragon roars and clutches its chest. It might not be dead, but you and your party are instilled with a wave of confidence as you see the creature bleed.
The Rod of the Crimson Soul is a Rare magic item that can be used by any character. The rod provides a simple but pure combative enhancement to anyone who wields it. You can expend a charge from the rod after dealing damage to a creature to cause it to take additional Force damage. The rod works for anyone attuned to it, and the additional damage can apply to any damage source, be it blade, spell, or fist. Be cautious in its use, for expending too many charges could release the vengeful soul trapped within the gemstone...
