Midwinter’s Embrace - A Solstice One-Shot for Icewind Dale
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild
Midwinter is meant to be a time of warmth, light, and togetherness — even in through Endless Nights.
As Ten-Towns gathers to celebrate the Winter Solstice, braziers are lit, games are played, and neighbors come together to defy the cold with laughter and shared warmth. For a brief moment, hope returns to Icewind Dale.
Then the blizzard comes.
An unnatural storm crashes through the celebration, freezing townsfolk where they stand as an undead horror stalks the snow-choked streets. As the wind howls and the fires dim, the characters must protect the town, face the creature behind the storm, and discover that survival in the Dale depends not only on strength—but on compassion.
This short adventure is designed as an emotional, beginner-friendly one-shot that emphasizes community, simple mechanics, and the power of shared warmth.
