Step into the dangerous waters of The Hungry Reef, a perilous coastal hunting ground where fishing expeditions turn deadly and the depths hide something far more intelligent—and far more protective—than ordinary sea life. What begins as a large-scale fishing venture quickly becomes a desperate fight for survival as something in the waters begins striking from below. This ready-to-use pack provides everything a DM needs to run a tense maritime encounter in Driftwood Hollow or any coastal settlement.

Included in this pack:

  • The Hungry Reef Quest – A high-stakes maritime adventure designed for level 5–7 parties. Four fishing boats venture into dangerous waters for a major haul, only to discover the area is controlled by a hidden underwater threat. As fishermen begin disappearing from the decks, the party must uncover what lurks beneath the waves, survive escalating attacks at sea, and confront the source of the disturbance deep within a coastal cave system.
  • Reef Predator (Reflavoured Sahuagin) – Amphibious hunters that blur the line between sea creature and humanoid menace. These ambush predators strike from beneath the waves, dragging victims into the depths before retreating into the reef. When engaged on land or aboard ships, they become brutal close-quarters combatants, relying on coordination, speed, and ruthless tactics.
  • Reef Brood Guardian (Mutated Sahuagin Baron) – A massive, warped protector of the reef’s nesting grounds. Driven by instinct and territorial fury, this creature guards a clutch of precious eggs hidden deep within the cave system. Its unnatural resilience and overwhelming strength make it a deadly centerpiece encounter for the adventure.
  • Garrick O’Brien – Veteran Sailor NPC – A hardened dwarf fisherman and experienced sea guide who has spent his life navigating the dangerous waters around Driftwood Hollow. Gruff, practical, and deeply respectful of the sea’s dangers, Garrick serves as both quest giver and maritime guide. His knowledge of tides, reefs, and old sea legends provides vital insight into the strange behaviour in the Hungry Reef—and hints at dangers that should have remained forgotten.
