Circle of Brine - Druid 5e Subclass
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild
Circle of Brine -- Druid Subclass (5e)
The tide pulls back, leaving armor slick with salt and weapons already beginning to pit. Brine creeps into seams and joints, working quietly where force would no-doubt fail. The druid does not command the sea to strike; he simply allows it to do what it has always done, wearing everything down until nothing solid remains.
Druids of the Circle of Brine dwell where the sea gnaws at the land and salt works its slow, patient ruin. They are found along tidal flats, marshlands, coral-choked swallows, and storm-beaten coasts; places where water is never truly still.
Members of this circle revere the sea not as a raging force, but more-so a tireless one. They understand that iron rusts, stone crumbles, and even the strongest works of mortals will one day fail when left to the tide. Their magic reflects this belief, as they favor caustic spells that weaken armor and weapons over time.
Circle of Brine druids often serve as wardens of coastlines and estuaries, driving off those who would scar fragile shores or pollute sacred waters.
Others wander, carrying the sea’s lessons inland, reminding the world that all things (no matter how well-forged) will one day return to the elements.
Inside, you'll find:
- A fully written, PHB-style Druid subclass
- New Features:
- Brinecraft (2nd-level)
- Corrosive Surf (6th-level)
- Salt-Scourge (10th-level)
- Dissolution (14th-level)
- A curated circle spell list (levels 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9; respectively)
This is a subclass I helped prepare for somebody at my table, as their old character died and we had just started a coastal-themed campaign; so they wanted a custom druid. This is mainly an acid-focused subclass, sort of mimicking how salt is corrosive.
