The funerary hall was heavy with sorrow, filled with quiet faces bowed in grief. The bard stepped forward, lyre in hand, and began to play. Those gathered leaned in, some weeping, some steady themselves, all moved by the solemn song. For a moment, the world outside the hall ceased to matter. The departed were honored, their stories held in the music, and the living found a small measure of peace.

Bards of the College of Epitaphs do not perform for fame or entertainment. They sing the memory of the fallen, and mark the passage of life with solemn artistry. Their songs honor those who have passed and guide the living to bear remembrance, courage, or grief with purpose.

These bards are often found at battlefields, funerals, or sites of tragedy; and can usually get free shelter at a funeral home. Their music comforts the broken, and disturbs the evil.
