They bear a sacred charge to their clan’s memory, yet during battle they wield that memory as a blade, cutting at their kin with old glories to drive them beyond their limits, measuring the living against the deeds of those who came before. When the blades are sheathed, these Skalds turn to mischief and ruin, enough to drive the ljósálfar to bitter tears. Battle has its hour, but so does revelry, and neither is gentle. Their hearts are crooked things, and no one can say with certainty where their true loyalty rests.
